COR ARCH. works on the photographic legacy of my father, (Carlos Olavo Rios) who lived and worked as a photographer in Hanover from 1988–96. Besides making the images visible, I aim for formal and substantive treatises. Further goals are the decoding of photographic narrative structures.
Since COR ARCH., my questioning of the pictorial is no longer limited to my own, but also extends to foreign material. The work aims to decode rules & structures wihtin the photogtraphic image.
The attempt is aware about the impossibility of its generality. It is rather a desire to hold onto the photographic image, legitimize it - for the pictorial sake.
